This is just cool.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We've been hanging out at home all day not doing much of anything, which is great! The turkey was delicious, as was the green stuffing. Joanne at work, made mention of green stuffing the other day. I couldn't believe it! Finally, someone else who eats green, almost black stuffing! She said at least some of her relatives are Irish, I wonder if that's where it comes from...I'm pretty sure that the recipe my mother used was her mother's and my mother's side is the Irish side.

Just had some of the delicious cheesecake that we drove and hour and a half for the other day...yup, it was well worth it!

Been watching Nasa TV off and on all day, it's fascinating.

The Santa in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, had blonde hair and beard today, it was weird. The parade seemed very commercialized this year. Yes, I know, it's really just one big commercial, but it seemed even more so this year. And I hadn't heard of half the performers.

I went and took this
Temperament Test here's the result

All Idealists (NFs) share the following core characteristics:

* Idealists are enthusiastic, they trust their intuition, yearn for romance, seek their true self, prize meaningful relationships, and dream of attaining wisdom.
* Idealists pride themselves on being loving, kindhearted, and authentic.
* Idealists tend to be giving, trusting, spiritual, and they are focused on personal journeys and human potentials.
* Idealists make intense mates, nurturing parents, and inspirational leaders.

Idealists, as a temperament, are passionately concerned with personal growth and development. Idealists strive to discover who they are and how they can become their best possible self--always this quest for self-knowledge and self-improvement drives their imagination. And they want to help others make the journey. Idealists are naturally drawn to working with people, and whether in education or counseling, in social services or personnel work, in journalism or the ministry, they are gifted at helping others find their way in life, often inspiring them to grow as individuals and to fulfill their potentials.

Idealists are rare, making up no more than 8 to 10 percent of the population. But their ability to inspire people with their enthusiasm and their idealism has given them influence far beyond their numbers.

Dear Abby:
I have been engaged for almost a year. I am to be married next month. My fiancee's mother is not only very attractive but, really great and understanding. She is putting the entire wedding together and invited me
to her place to go over the invitation list because it had grown a bit beyond what we had expected it to be.

When I got to her place we reviewed the list and trimmed it down to just under a hundred...then she floored me. She said that in a month, I would be a married man and that before that happened, she wanted to have sex
with me. Then she just stood up and walked to her bedroom and on her way said that I knew where the front door was if I wanted to leave. I stood there for about five minutes and finally decided that I knew exactly how
to deal with this situation.
I headed straight out the front door... There, leaning against my car was her husband, my father-in-law to be. He was smiling. He explained that they just wanted to be sure I was a good kid and would be true to their little girl. I shook.

Abby, should I tell my fiancee what her parents did, and that I thought their little test was asinine and insulting to my character? Or should I keep the whole thing to myself including the fact that the reason I was walking out to my car was to get a condom?

Thanks to Tammy for this laugh :)

I went and got some pictures developed at Walmart tonight, they were really nice about it, I called them, it was late, but they said no problem, they weren't busy and they'd run them through. Very nice of them. They turned out nice too. I don't usually care for that matte finish, but they look nice.

I've been messing with the colors and all, nice distraction really. That probably only made sense to a handful of people, but, that's okay too.

Been watching Firefly, I couldn't stand the show when we first started watching it, but it's grown on me. Figures. Now, we're left to wonder if it will be cancelled.

Went grocery shopping today, I don't like grocery shopping very much, I especially don't like it during normal hours, we usually go in the middle of the night on my night off, when no one is around. When we got to the register, the girl was washing down the conveyor belt, she'd just sprayed it, quite a bit actually, with whoknowswhat, needless to say, I didn't feel like putting my precious box of Honey Nut Clusters down on the wet belt, I asked her if it would be dry soon -how utterly foolish of me - my question was met with the 3 headed stare look and I told to just put my things down - hmmm - did I mention that I'm capable of bitch mode in under a second? I showed great restraint by ignoring her and just handed her the box when she was ready and what did the defiant little bitch do? Yes, yes she did, for no good reason, she took the box and placed it on the wet conveyor belt. I almost laughed, but was startled by my son, the laid back one in the family, telling me in no uncertain terms that we were moving to another egister. The checkout girl looked pretty stunned too, but she recovered in time to say to the checker next to her, that it was "only glass cleaner" - last straw for me, now I went and got the manager, who went and told the check out girl that they needed to talk. The customer isn't always right, I'm not that naive, but I wish that more people would take some pride in what they do. There are times that I wish I could treat idiots like that they way that they treat others.

On Fresh Air, The author states: "The only thing bloggers seem to have in common is that they have a lot of time on their hands and an exhibitionist streak"

When I first starting reading blogs, I think I may have, at times, thought the same thing. Now, I view them more like a series of small town newspapers. I find most to be terribly interesting and I love the diverse links that I find. I like the comraderie and the sharing of cultural differences. I suppose, that in some respects it is kind of vain or egotistical to think that anyone wants to read what I/we have to say, but I approach my blog much the same way that I do my web page, it's like a personal filing cabinet. I keep pictures and links on my website and now I keep other links here and throw in some personal thoughts or rants.

I don't know why the link to RREDV's pictures looks so lame, but it works, so that's all that really matters...

Weight Watchers - I'd been going for 6 weeks and managed to take off 16 lbs, but, I guess I was disappointed when I went to LCA and no one noticed...people at work noticed, but I haven't been back since we came back from Canada, so I really have to get my act together and get back over there. I've been eating like a pig since we came home.

Anyone read the J.D Robb books?

Oh - yeah - highlight of my weekend - being told I was too old to be asked to one of those sexy lingerie/sex toy parties - "Well, you're my mother's age!" It's true, but still, does she really think her parents don't do it anymore?? Amazing.

Last week I made E-mail contact with a guy I went to college with, haven't gotten to speak to him in person yet, we've been playing phone and E-mail tag, but I'm looking forward to talking with him! And I just got an E-mail from another guy that I knew "why back then", he's the brother of a girl I went to school with and I was thrilled to hear from him too. And we just ran into an old friend in the grocery store!

Anyone use that Classmates.com site? Just curious.

Catching up -

Lights, Camera, Auction 5! We're back! It was a wonderful event this year,as it is every year. It's so much fun raising money for charity, with the added bonus of seeing our friends too. We don't get to take very many pictures, but these sites have some great pictures and a few even have us lurking about in the background.

We found out 2 days before we left that Sebastian has diabetes, he's one of our cats. If anyone has any tips on treatment for diabetic cats, please let me know, thanks! He's presently on 2 shots a day and special food. I'm amazed at how many men remarked that they would have jhad him put down, how odd.

I've been having problems with the post and post and publish buttons disappearing and not being able to log out and log in properly - usually, I would update my blog from work, but, our connection has been down, so now I need to find time from home to do it!
